The Sun.The Sand. And the Return....

The road was incredibly beautiful. We rode along the river, zuari or mandovi, I suppose. And though she wasnt incredibly beautiful, she surely was attractive. She sported a pony and the curly hair gave it an even better look. She and her friends stood, whiile we sat, and letched, not actually, but nearly. That was in a bus to Old Goa.

We had woken up to a competitive morning. The moment I was awake all I could remember was Adi and DK complaining about only two bathrooms. The previous night had been a tiring one with a cruise trip to the mouth of the river and a night walk along a highway on the bridge. Acco had been arranged, thanks to Matter. Though we had been initially intimidated by the RLA looks of the building. It was cheap, and convenient. However there was a problem, another party, a mattha group made evident by their marathi gaalis barged into the rooms in the night. A group of frust or desperte or whatever guys, just like us.

Coming back to the competition, I took Adi's advice and was one of the first to complete my daily rituals. And then the quest started. the matthas and us took turns, or whatever, and finally were done.Relaxed ?? You bet I was after that.

After that we set off to Old Goa. And then I saw her, with her curly hairs, and definitely an attractive look.

After Francis Xaviers church and another one right opposite to it, the fight began. Bhatta was insisting on a trip to Pallolem,a beach in south Goa, before boarding a train to Surathkal, while DK had other thoughts. Both made sense in their own respect. I was lost in thoughts. The Brit woman, the half nude european and the girl with curly hair, had got me into a natural high.

And finally we went DKs way, and before I could realise we were in Mazgaon railway station. The crowd was getting bigger and bigger. The heat was getting on to us.

Until I saw them. The Hippie Goddesses!!!

I had hoped to come across atleast a few of them. And just as I thought abot that, there they were. All the excitement lasted until the train finally dragged itself into the station. We ran to get seats. Matter and some more in one bogie, the rest of us in another. After that somehow we managed to catch up. I hoped to see more of those hippie babes. But couldnt get through to the other bogie though.

I woke up to a rude fight, guess with what, empty bottles. Our guys had lost themselves in that fight. While they were at it, me ,DK and Basu made it to the door. Thats where DK gave that unique pose on the doorway .

Soon we were in Surathkal station. Sads was the next destination. The arithmetic had already begun. Boys had started to make calculations of who blew how much, and who had to pay whom.As we rode through the crowded shuttle back to the hostel, I couldnt help but think of all those girls.

It was final block again. I was happy to be back. Just as I entered the hostel, I saw Sinka running with an anxious look on his face in the ground floor. He held his cell pressed to his ear and ran.

INCI had started to take its toll on the Chappars.

Back to reality.

Loco says.....

Guess its time that i put out the memories of the goa trip as much as i can recollect at this point in time. So thanks to kesh for bringing us till Panjim through his Part 3. It was evening by the time we reached Panjim and the chappars had a mixed opinion on the PoA(Plan of Action.. for the uninitiated) for the next day. It was hard to come to a single conclusion given the fact that on one hand, we had Bhatta backed by many including me were for renting out bikes and going on a ride and on the other Adi, the Devru and others, keen on exploring the historic attractions of goa. Not able to decide on the next day's PoA, we thought we will just go on the boat ride on the river Mandovi that evening. The Boat Cruise on the Mandovi did some magic and the chappars decided to go with the plan of Adi & Co and explore the historic places of Goa. Bhatta was already making plans of another Goa visit where he could rent bikes and fire the roads of goa. Adi watched the places with utmost concentration making a point not to miss a single item which didnt belonged to the present age! while the sulking chappars chose to scan through the items as though they belonged to that age! Anyway the historical tour ended and the chappars embarked on the final leg of the trip which was a 4 hr ride on the west coast of India thanks to Konkan Railways. The journey back home was quite cosy as we got places to sit which were failry near to each other. Atreya was impressed with himself for cuddling with a small kid for most of the journey. Bhatta wasnt able to decide which bike he would rent in his next goa trip. The rest of the chappars chose to find solace in the good old dumb charades and TDH games. There was one Bottle fighting incident among the chappars but thank god neither anyone got hurt nor did anyone pulled the chain for the commotion inside the general compartment. Once the KR throwed us out at Surathkal station, we thought we would walk peacefully to the Surathkal bus stand and go back to the hostel. But the street dogs near the Surathkal railway station had other plans. They were continuously tormenting us throughout the dark stretch of road between the Surathkal railway station to the main road. Luckily for us, the dogs decided just to warn us and not to harm anyone. I thought we were lucky, but coming to think of it, i feel we were saved because of the rapport Adi shares with the PINK species. Anyway all's well that ends well.

There might be some chronological differences in the order of the events narrated above. Chappars are requested to kindly adjust with the same. I thought it would be formal for me to include DISCLAIMER but for those who cannot do without it, consider this as the DISCLAIMER itself.

The Sun. The Sand. And a Story... Part 3

I looked down the cliff. Pink Floyd played in the background. The smell of some exotic sea food filled the air. The Sound of Waves. That was a perfect name for a near perfect restaurant. Right on the cliff over looking the sea. With all this, my mind still refused to think anything else but her.

A topless girl. White. Well built body. A red string bikini. They say it all. I will be damned if i say i wasnt thrilled. But was it all ? Not for me...

It glowed. I am sure it did. I might not remember any other thing in detail. But this thing, I cant afford to forget. Such was her skin. She was a mirage. We saw our dream take shape as her and play in front of us. But still we did not dare touch her. So she remained a mirage. At least I like to remember her that way. For us, she had no name, just like those 'never before seen' faces in our dreams. We had made our date with a nude beach that day.

That morning,I cursed myslef to believe Anjuna as a paradise I was looking out for. A cliff overlooking a small beach with huge rocks and plenty of nuns from a nearby church convinced me to be a moron to believe Anjuna.

Before I could let out a cry of desperation Loco called out form the beach below. We got down. And we couldnt believe our eyes. Two phirang girls with an average build sat on a rock at a distance with palms holding together.
A sly smile formed on every one's face.

Fuckin perverts. Yes we were all.

And finally we found the paradise. And finally we found our treasure, totally unprotected, but with a red string bikini.

Awestruck. Yes we were all.

And then came Panjim.

(to be concluded)

The Virgin Sands

Goa is a virgin and an experienced sultry seductress rolled into one. If you are some firang tourist who has 'dipped the stick', Goa is nothing. Its just an idyllic getaway where you can spend hours lazing around, getting a tan, attending the rave parties and the like. But on the other hand, if you are a bunch of youngsters with loads of testosterone oozing out, then its different. Everywhere you see, you see only C#$% and B*$%#.

It was no different with us. We stepped on to Madgaon expecting the platform to part and lead us to the nude beach, just as the sea had parted to allow Moses onto land. What we got to see instead was a skybus test system from Konkan railway.

Little did we know then that the skybus was jinxed and would be shelved in the future. Read about it here.

An extract: Sep. 25: KR Skybus prototype has an accident where the coach crashes into a pier; one person is killed.

There was a quick Chappar conference outside the railway station and we found that we had to go to Panjim and from there to Baga/Calengute beaches. The issue at Baga then arose to that of finding accomodation at "student" friendly rates. The house owner was initially reluctant, but then had to capitulate and give us our rooms.

The afternoon was spent in bathing, drowsing and planning for the evening ahead. As the sun went down, the Chappars went out. Everyone was eagerly hoping for a sight of a boob or two and we walked the entire contiguous beach stretch in search of the elusive tit.

The beach was packed and the paragliding, sunset and boats provided solace to only Chanchu who was busy with his handycam. Photographers also had a field day.

Disappointed, we moved onto a restaurant which was run by a Bangy and a guy from belgaum. It was here that we saw a gay foreigner trying to kiss the restaurant owner. He also cast a dirty look at us, and left.

Before we left the restaurant, we were warned not to roam around the beach at night because of the presence of whores and homosexuals who would make our life miserable. This only kindled our curiosity, and increased our resolve to roam around.

We bought a bottle of the cheapest vodka we would ever buy in our lifetime and went back to the house. Loco, the new drunkard on the block soon passed out after a swig of the bottle. The others stayed within their limits but the vodka was quite strong I must admit.

soon, it was time for the night stroll and only me, bhatta and MSK managed to venture out. all the others were OUT!!! We saw nothing of what we were warned about and only saw a sexy babe shake her booty with her family at a private party......

The next morning, keshav, me and chanchu went for a morning walk, and soon it was time for ANJUNA...

kesh, take over.............

The Sun.The Sand .And a story...

Memories. Fragments of them. Revisited. In a twisted sequence.

The man opened a small brown box. We all gazed with great interest and curiosity. Tobacco or was it Grass? Well ,we couldnt make out the difference between the leaf and the weed. Anyways, he stuffed the roll he had just made using that white paper. Cool man, never had we seen fag being rolled. 'You know I am an engineer!' he said with his Brit accent.

You bet we were interested.

I was anticipating this. 'Well...which college did you go to?'. Needless to say, it was DK. He still held 'Moor's Last Sigh' in his hand. 'Oh I am not an engineer of that sort' the Brit said. More anticipations.' You heard of a band called ub40' , i guess that was the name he said. 'Well i am into the sound settings you know in the concerts', more Brit accent. Someone in the group went on to explain that we were from an engineering college. The Brit got up and told he was going to get some drags. Well this could not interest anybody, but for the way he told, it was more like he was asking permission to do so.

Though our primary reason to barge out of the crowded bogie in Udupi station was to park our arse, we eventually realised that the reason was phirang. A dozen or so phirangs, needless to say women included, boarded a bogie next to us and rush did we to make sure we did not miss a place in that compartment. The man behind this , our own Loco.

We promptly occupied seats next to a couple who for whatever reason were sitting apart from the other phirangs.

And what prompted us, well the lady's miniskirt. Fuckin perverts, yes we were all.

The couple sat silently. Thats when we started talking to the Brit. He opened his little brown box and a bundle of thin white paper.

The Brit took deep drags near the door where some other phirangs shared their rolls with each other. The lady was left all alone. She kept staring out of the window. And we kept staring at her. She looked ineteresting. 'You seem to be lost' , again i did anticipate this. this time it was MSK. I guess thats what he said ...or so. She looked up. 'Oh me? Not really' , atleast this was what her look told me.

Adi dozed while Basu kept looking outside the window, he had fixed his gaze on the distant horizon. I always wondered what he was thinking. There was so much the man thought, but so little he told. MSK had retired to his nap. I heard a shriek. Bhatta,Kitwa and Loco laughed their asses off to a PJ cracked by Matter. I stood up to see who shrieked. Matter gave me a 'I didnt say that' look. There was nothing to be told. Aathitude was glued to his mobile. He was frantically hoping that the gadget would display the local cell info. VP was silent throughout.

And I... I was slouching on the seat, trying to anticipate the smell, the smell of the sea, the smell of Goa. Would the coast smell any different there?

Then it was Mazhagaon.
